Keeping your dog clean and healthy goes beyond the occasional bath at home. At petbar, we offer both professional grooming services and bathing services, each designed to meet different needs for your pup’s coat, comfort, and overall well-being.
Not sure which one your dog needs—or how often? Let’s break it down.
What’s Included in a Bathing Service at petbar?
Bathing services are perfect for maintenance between grooms or for dogs who don’t require full haircuts.
At petbar, our Full-Service Bath & Brush includes:
- A warm bath with high-quality shampoo and conditioner
- Blow dry
- Lightbrush-out to remove tangles and loose fur
- Nail trimming
- Ear cleaning
- You can add-on spa facial, specialty shampoos, de-shedding treatment, and more if needed
It’s a great option for keeping your dog clean, smelling fresh, and comfortable between bathing or grooming appointments.
What’s Included in a Grooming Service at petbar?
Grooming goes a step further than bathing. In addition to all the services in our Bath & Brush package, professional grooming includes:
- A full haircut, tailored to your dog’s breed and lifestyle
- Coat styling to keep your pup looking their best
- Extra attention to matting, shedding, and coat health
Grooming is especially important for breeds with coats that require trimming or shaping, such as Poodles, Doodles, Shih Tzus, or Schnauzers.
Which Dogs Don’t Typically Need Grooming?
Not every dog needs haircuts—but they all need regular baths! Short-coated or naturally low-maintenance breeds usually do just fine with our Bath & Brush service.
Some examples include:
- Labrador Retrievers & Golden Retrievers – Regular baths and de-shedding keep their coats shiny and manageable.
- Beagles – Their short coats require minimal upkeep but benefit from routine cleaning.
- Boxers & Bulldogs – Smooth-coated breeds that only need baths, nail trims, and ear cleaning.
- Huskies – While they shed heavily, their double coats don’t need haircuts—just consistent bathing, brushing, and de-shedding.
- Greyhounds & Whippets – Sleek coats that need little more than regular bathing and nail care.
Even if your dog doesn’t need a haircut, routine bathing helps manage shedding, keeps their skin healthy, and prevents that “doggy odor.”
Why a Routine Matters
Just like people, dogs benefit from a regular grooming and bathing schedule. Sticking to a routine offers big benefits for both your pup and your home:
- Healthier skin and coat – Regular baths and grooms help prevent matting, hot spots, and irritation.
- Comfort – Clean fur, trimmed nails, and reduced shedding keep your dog comfortable year-round.
- Cleaner home – Less hair and dirt tracked into your house.
- Easier maintenance – Dogs on a routine tolerate baths and grooming better and experience fewer coat issues overall.
How Often Should You Schedule?
- Bath & Brush services: Every 2–4 weeks, depending on your dog’s activity level and coat type
- Full Grooming services: Every 4–8 weeks for most breeds that require haircuts
For busy pet parents, our monthly memberships make it simple to keep your dog on schedule. Memberships include unlimited Bath & Brush services—helping you stay consistent and keeping your pup healthy and clean year-round.
