Nelly and Bob Sammon are the proud owners of petbar-Katy.
“We are true dog lovers, and building relationships with fellow pet parents drives everything we do,” says Nelly.
Born and raised in El Salvador, Nelly grew up helping her parents run a hotel and restaurant. During a visit home after attending law school, she met Bob, who was serving in El Salvador with the U.S. Peace Corps and staying at her parents’ hotel. Fast forward a few years to 2007, and Bob and Nelly were married. Bob built a career in the energy industry, which eventually brought their family to Texas. Today, they live in Fulshear with their two daughters, Eva and Amelia, and their lively Cocker Spaniel, Reece.
“We both really wanted to start a business our family could call our own. Our love of dogs led us to petbar,” explains Nelly.
“We noticed that petbar stands out with its private grooming rooms and high-quality products,” adds Bob.
Petbar-Katy opened in February of 2022, and if you read their Google Reviews, you’ll see they’ve become a much-loved destination for dog grooming and bathing, with loyal customers from near and far. Nelly, who manages the day-to-day experience, describes it as a true labor of love. “We’re so proud that this is, in fact, a family business—something we can build together by earning the trust of our community.”
They know pet parents have many options, but Nelly says that only motivates them to work even harder. “We strive to provide exceptional, personalized service with every full groom or full-service bath.”
